Henry Cavill’s exit from The Witcher franchise left a deep scar on all the fans. Despite the fall in the show’s quality, if fans had any hope for the series, it was because of Cavill. Fans’ displeasure over the OG Geralt’s exit made the makers reconsider whether to recast Geralt. However, the makers surprised fans with Cavill’s replacement, Liam Hemsworth, and even talked about how they are planning to introduce the new face. Apart from that, the last season of The Witcher received a favorable review from the audience.

Fans expressed their love towards Cavill by significantly increasing the viewership of the show in the week of July 24th. However, the show still lacks the key that can compel the fans to return for more in the upcoming seasons. An exciting character introduction is just what The Witcher needs right now!

As the makers are attempting to bring the series closer to the source material, one can expect them to introduce original characters in the upcoming season. In the last season of The Witcher, fans saw everyone hunting for Ciri who has now joined hands with The Rats. This could be a great queue to introduce some of the book characters who help Geralt in finding the princess of Cintra. One such character is Emiel Regis Rohellec Terzieff Godefroy, who is one of the most powerful characters in the entire series.

Regis is a vampire who also goes on a quest to find Ciri, and amidst the journey strikes a friendship with Geralt. He not only has incredible power and speed, but this 400-year-old vampire is also immortal. Apart from strength and speed, this character boasts intelligence and is popular as one of the most thought-provoking characters in the fan-loved series. However, the makers have to carefully weave this character to make the addition impactful for the series.

The world knows by now that the former Superman has been one of the biggest fans of The Witcher games and novels. The actor did not leave any stone unturned in bagging the role of Geralt in the series. When he heard about Hissrich’s project, the Enola Holmes actor got at his agents’ and showrunners’ nerves to an extent where the 45-year-old filmmaker started to find him “annoying”. And he proved why he thought he was perfect for the show by his impeccable performance. However, one of the most defining features of the Geralt, his voice, was actually not a part of the plan.

During the celebration of his show with Netflix, the Night Hunter actor revealed that he never really used the deep rugged voice of Geralt when he auditioned for the role. While shooting a scene, the actor accidentally came up with the voice, which he realized after the shooting’s wrap. Though it was not the first choice of the makers, Cavill thought the voice was more suitable for the rigidness of the Witcher and kept on using it for the rest of the show.
