After ‘Deadpool 3’, Season 4 Production of ‘The Witcher’ Suffers a Setback Owing to the SAG-AFTRA Strike
The actors’ strike to fight against the disparities in pay and job security has had global attention. And so has the excitement for the upcoming volume two of The Witcher 3. The producers are already setting the stage up for season 4 but that seems to have been affected by the ongoing strike. It is not only The Witcher 4 that will suffer the impact. Earlier, we saw Deadpool 3 suffer a setback. The Ryan Reynolds movie, which will be the first collaboration with Wolverine, will probably shift its release date due to the delay. Suffering from a similar fate, Liam Hemsworth’s debut in The Witcher after replacing Henry Cavill in the fourth season is set to receive a blow to its release date.
New reports suggest that the production for The Witcher has suffered amidst the SAG-AFTRA and these are the new updates.

In a new report by Redanian Intelligence, the production has been delayed from September 24. It was supposed to happen between September 2023 and May 2024, but the strike has shifted its production to 2024. Although the exact reason for the strike hasn’t been announced, it is much more likely to be due to the ongoing strike. Since we don’t exactly know when in 2024 they could start filming, we will mostly see it air on our screens at the beginning of 2025.
The report also suggested that they could use the two-volume model and give us the first volume for season 4 in 2024, but getting it so early would be less likely than in 2025. To get an idea of what their normal length of filming is, season 2 took about 14 months for the entire process, from filming to post-production.
But, to keep your spirits high, here’s all we know of the developments of Season 4 yet.

The fourth season starring Hemsworth has already been teased quite a lot. Apparently being true to the books, the producer said that the books were the foundation of bringing the Australian actor in. He hinted at adding talented writers to weave the book into the introduction for the show.
This will open the possibilities of a bigger Witcher universe, offering a smooth transition from Cavill to Hemsworth. And while the show has already been renewed for season 5 too, more new faces will come along the Witcher journey besides Hemsworth. But for the time being, volume two of season 3 will be released in just a day, on July 27.
