Up until now, Rebel Moon was the highly anticipated Zack Snyder project that was set to reignite not just the director’s career after a long hiatus but also to bring the science-fiction genre a masterpiece that did not belong to Marvel or DC. But the sand of time has shifted one too many landscapes for Rebel Moon within a day.

Set to release on Netflix, Rebel Moon has two parts. But two grand movies are not the limit for this Zack Snyder gem as it announces its entry into a whole new world.

Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon expands its universe

A fantasy world with a corrupt government, the moon of Veldt under the constant peril of the Imperium, a formidable army from the Mother World, and the creative brilliance of Zack Snyder bringing it to life, is what Netflix’s upcoming science fiction flick consists of. Or so fans thought. Hinted by Snyder during his appearance at Gamescom event and announced by the official social media handles, Rebel Moon is getting its own four-player co-op action game.

Given the various elements involved, many were under the context that the movie is inspired by a book or a game. However, it is Snyder’s work of art all the way from the screenplay to directing.

As witnessed by the trailer, there are numerous characters with contradictory goals, making Snyder’s Veldt planet the perfect setting for a video game. And while he may not be the one in charge of making the video game, the director has chosen the one who fits his glass slippers the best.

Snyder’s tale gets its own video game

The director himself has expanded his story across two parts. The Rebel Moon: Part One- A Child of Fire will be released towards the end of this year on Netflix and select theaters. This will be followed by a second part titled, Rebel Moon: Part Two–The Scargive which will drop in 2024. And that will be followed by the video game being crafted by Super Evil Megacrop.

While not a lot has been said about this video game, except of course the fact that it is a four player co-op action game, it will be set after the way. This is a trope frequent in most science fiction movies, however, there is rarely ever a case where the aftermath of a movie is followed by a video game. But looks like Rebel Moon will be staying true to its name by marking a lot of firsts.
