After Blaming Prince William and Kate Middleton For Their advice, Prince Harry Takes Accountability for Nazi Uniform, Says “did not ask enough questions”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle took the Royal Family off its feet with their tell-all bombshell docuseries and memoir. The record-breaking projects fetched the duo massive fame and glory but the controversies and criticism that came along were equally proportionate. The Duke, unfortunately, could not avoid certain potholes that pushed him into a quagmire of never-ending speculations of the feeding frenzy in the media.

One of the heated topics of discussion that popped up from the six-part docuseries was his Nazi uniform-wearing episode. In the series, Prince Harry claimed that wearing that costume “was one of the biggest mistakes of his life.” However, the memoir came up with more devastating revelations about the same. In an excerpt from his explosive memoir, Spare, the Duke claims that it was actually his elder brother, Prince William, and Kate Middleton who asked him to put on that shirt.

Prince Harry admits to his fault for wearing a Nazi uniform

In his neglected young years, the Duke was hardly in the right state of mind to our himself together. Adding to it, the reckless influence of his delinquent teenage friends also added fuel to the fire. Also to note, the theme of the party he attended was ‘Natives and Colonials.’ However, Prince Harry now admits that it was no one’s but his fault alone. Although he claimed that it was his elder brother and wife who pushed him to wear the Nazi costume, he realizes, he “did not ask enough questions.”

He further writes in his memoir that the decision to put on that shirt was “a failure. A failure of thinking, a failure of character.” Adding to this was also his failure to proper education on certain controversial topics in the pages of history. The Duke believes that he had not educated himself enough about Nazis and their history. He took the responsibility of not knowing enough about the world around it and the impact the past makes on the present.

Nonetheless, what matters is that the day he was made aware, he resolved to change.I couldn’t become the person I hope until I changed that,” he confessed in his memoir. Prince Harry’s memoir has housed many such explosive revelations that have shifted the tectonic plates of the Royal base.
