After Appearing Together in ‘FUBAR’, Gabriel Luna Talks About the “Continuation of His Journey” With Arnold Schwarzenegger
Arnold Schwarzenegger and Gabriel Luna, from being real-life friends to reel-life foes, appeared on the Netflix series, FUBAR. The Austrian actor has been basking in the praises from all around the world. However, his protagonist became successful because of a worthy opponent. And that antagonist is none other than Gabriel Luna, a friend turned foe of Luke Brunner in the series. However, playing the antagonist against his close friend did not seem difficult to Luna. And he has a substantial reason for it, too.
Premiered on the 25th of May, FUBAR centers around Luke Brunner (Arnold Schwarzenegger) and his daughter Emma Brunner (Monica Barbaro). Gabriel Luna plays the foe named Boro in the Netflix Original. In his recent interview with CBR, Luna talked about his reunion with his friend, the 7-times Mr. Olympia. As Luna himself revealed, he and Schwarzenegger had been pretty close friends since they worked on Terminator: Dark Fate together.

However, appearing together once again with his friend was special to him. Two weeks before they started filming, he had met with the 75-year-old actor. Because they meet each other frequently, Luna said he would like to see it “as a continuation of our ongoing relationship as it builds.” Although the reason this time it was special working for him was because of the actual beef between their characters.
The Ghost Rider actor also admitted their off-screen friendship helped him with their on-screen chemistry as well. They both train together as well as indulge in charity work together. Lune admired his close friendship with The Terminator actor. Despite having so many similarities between them, their on-screen story tells us something else.

A protagonist is incomplete without a worthy opponent. Schwarzenegger’s character, Luke Brunner, kills Boro’s father when he was just a child. To make sure Boro never walks in his father’s footsteps, Brunner looks after him and tries to make him a decent human being. However, Boro does exactly what his father did, indulging in criminal activities.
That is where their complexities begin. As a CIA officer, Luke Brunner has explicit instructions to kill Boro. But because he looked after him, Luke finds himself in an emotional conflict within himself. Does Luke follow orders? Does he kill Boro who hero-worships him? Well, to know the answers, we would recommend you watch the full series.
