The new era of Hollywood thrives on attaining its magical stories from comics and books that have already wreaked havoc. This has made way for several book-to-series adaptations, such as The Witcher and The Sandman. Although connected by their dark frames, mystical elements, and notable writers, there still remains a huge gap between them. The first one stems from their accuracy or the lack of it to the source material. And the second from how Netflix’s enthusiasm differs when it comes to both series.

On one hand, news of season 5 of The Witcher is confirmed while the show airs its third season. And on the other, fans of The Sandman had to beg the OTT Mogul for a confirmation on the second season despite the show being a wrecking ball of entertainment in the first. As fans were finally rejoicing the news of The Sandman Season 2, another update has ruffled their feathers.

While Netflix continues to churn out projects, many writers have put their pens down. Neil Gaiman also joined the writers of Netflix’s Stranger Things as they halted all work to join the protest. Thankfully, Gaiman had dished earlier that the writing for The Sandman Season 2 has been completed. But that’s where the good news ends as Redanian Intelligence reveals that the show is set to be missing one for its length compared to Season 1.

This is when Netflix was still starry-eyed after learning the wonders of what making fans wait for the finale can do with Stranger Things Season 4. Therefore, ten episodes of the drama series were released earlier and fans spent sleepless nights for two weeks until the finale.

It was not until fans saw pictures of the actors in their costumes filming for Season 2 that they believed it was coming. However, as per the schedule, the shooting commences from June to October and then again from January to April 2024. Given how the series is already being shot in two parts, it is pretty likely that it will be released in the same manner.

The filming of the second batch of episodes ends in April 2024. This will allow Netflix to drop The Sandman Season 2 in August 2024, on its two-year anniversary. However, with Mason Alexander Park refusing to refer to the upcoming release as a new season, and choosing ‘new episodes’ instead, the wait for the second batch of episodes can stretch up to August 2025.
