Actor Paul Sun-Hyung Lee Calls Netflix’s Live Action ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ “mature”
Avatar: The Last Airbender is one of the most popular animated series in the world, and Netflix knows it. That’s why the streaming giant is doing everything in its power to deliver the audience the best form of the project. However, art is subjective, and every adaptation is unique. So now that Netflix will be serving audiences their own version of the show, some things are definite to change.
And thanks to the trustworthy source of Iroh actor Paul Sun-Hyung Lee who previously gave us huge updates such as episode runtime and budget. We now have an idea of what the tone of the show will be. And just a heads up, younger kids might not be allowed to watch this live-action adaptation.
Avatar: The Last Airbender by Netflix to have a more mature tone

Actor Paul Sun-Hyung Lee is optimistic about Netflix’s mature approach to the live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender. Uncle Iroh actor appeared on a Funboxing Sundays episode.
There the Canadian actor indicated that the Netflix series would take a more adult tone in keeping with the themes of the animated source material’s final seasons. He also talked about the show’s intended audience.
He said that as the show is an adaptation, its main objective will be to expand the audience. The actor quickly mentioned that the studio is keeping the original fans of the show in their minds all the time.

And that they will for sure be happy with what they have done. But as the original series was targeted at a younger audience as well as a more mature one. The live-action adaptation might not be suitable for a younger audience.
Paul explained, “they’re making it a little bit more mature in that sense, so it’s not for little little kids, and I think that’s part of growing that audience. And I think a lot of fans of the animated show. I think they’ll be very, very happy with what they see because there is a definite respect for the source material.”

The original Avatar: The Last Airbender series had a PG rating. So we will have to wait and see what rating the adaptation scores. This is also the second major way in which the adaptation will be different from the original one.
