With a lot of changes going on around the DC Studios, the film starring Dwayne Johnson, Black Adam, made its last appearance for the actor when he was asked to reprise his role as the DC anti-hero in Shazam! Fury of the Gods, he declined. While fans were expecting to see at least The Rock on screen with the DCEU, he disappointed them by declining a cameo with Shazam. As the release date of the film comes closer, fans cannot stop themselves from feeling sad.
When Black Adam saw the return of Henry Cavill as Superman, the fandom was extremely excited. However, some of them also demanded Shazam instead of Superman because of their history in comic books. In the comic book, Shazam and Black Adam are archnemeses. The predecessor to Shazam, Black Adam, was also a nice man before receiving powers from the wizard. Thus, the DC bosses wanted to keep the thrilling history alive with The Rock’s Black Adam character, but the actor denied the opportunity.

Fans mourn the lost opportunity of Dwayne Johnson in Shazam! Fury of The Gods
Shazam! Fury of the Gods is a sequel to the 2019 film Shazam! The sequel will follow the story of a family of teenage heroes. The leader of the heroes is going to be Billy Batson, also known as Shazam. They will fight the Daughters of Atlas in Shazam! 2. While the film will be released on the 17th of March 2023, fans were hoping to see The Rock on screen with Shazam! As the release date comes closer, Richard Newby posted on Twitter expressing his disappointment.
Still absolutely wild to me that the Shazam family will never interact with Black Adam and that Johnson turned down a cameo in this film. Like, my brother in Christ, love you but, Black Adam, is a Shazam character. #ShazamFuryOfTheGods pic.twitter.com/hXyBluNjRf

While many fans of The Rock agreed with him and expressed their feelings in the comments. Although some of them couldn’t believe The Rock wouldn’t be there in the film. One of them even imagined Vin Diesel taking over Black Adam. But one fan recreated the original poster of Shazam! Fury of the Gods with Dwayne Johnson as Black Adam in it. Let’s take a look here.
Did he really???

Going to be crazy when Vin Diesel takes over as Black Adam in Shazam 3. This time he is out to destroy family. And The Rocks ego. 😂. To be clear at this moment I’m still Rock>Vin.

I like The Rock and I'm happy for his successes, but he went on and on about doing everything for Black Adam FOR the fans and listened TO the fans and so forth, but he missed the one big thing fans wanted, and that was to stick Black Adam with Shazam.

%100 Black Adam would have done better had it included the Shazam family. They're practically the same in tone.

Why did he do that? I thought that the whole reason Johnson pushed for a Black Adam film was because he was a fan. Surely he knows that it's Black Adam vs. Shazam, right?

I completely agree. I mean, he even shows up briefly when Shazam recounts giving him the Power of Shazam. I’m sad that they didn’t incorporate a flashback of him releasing the 7 sins in Black Adam, but I’m sure Dwayne shot it down if it was ever suggested.
