A Michael Douglas, Robert De Niro, and Morgan Freeman’s Star-Studded Comedy Is Surging Ahead on Netflix Charts
Once upon a time, as Hollywood was on its way to becoming the entertainment capital of the world, several talented names took the lead. Taking the helm of different genres at different times, many have come and left their marks behind. When Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone were redefining action, veterans such as Robert De Niro and Al Pacino led the other fronts.
A decade-old flick involving such A-list greats went quite below the expected mark upon its release. However, it is now once again beaming back to life thanks to Netflix.

Lights, glitz, and the city of sin are what define Las Vegas. A city that has forever enamored visions and adventures of bachelorhood has also served as a backdrop for many Hollywood movies. In 2013, director Jon Turteltaub amassed veterans Robert De Niro, Michael Douglas, Morgan Freeman, Kevin Kline, and Mary Steenburgen to take over the city in his movie, Las Vegas. While it moderately underperformed for its cast back then, it has now climbed up to No. 8 on Netflix’s Top 10 charts.
The movie revolved around retired friends who traveled to Vegas for the bachelor party of the sole remaining one among them. Revolving around all the flair and glare of the city, Las Vegas also addressed the usual getting into trouble in Vegas. Claiming $134 million worldwide on its budget of $28 million, the movie fell short of critical appreciation. With a rating of 46% on Rotten Tomatoes, it was said to be predictable and over-the-top. However, as the recent Netflix ratings show, it certainly is enjoyable.
As the veteran actors get their due credit, Netflix is busy adding flicks after flicks.

Under crippling pressure owing to lack of production thanks to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strikes, Netflix has to keep adding movies to its repertoire. As Las Vegas becomes the latest hidden gem to surge in popularity, the streaming giant has acquired many such movies recently. Fresh off, it recently brought over Elizabeth Olsen starrer, His Three Daughters, straight from the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival.
It itself came on the backs of Richard Linklater’s Glen Powell starrer, Hit Man. Meanwhile, its own shows such as Stranger Things and The Witcher are yet to take off shooting for their incumbent seasons. Even though WGA has lit a green light, the actor’s union’s negotiations are still underway. In the meantime, fans can tune in to watch Las Vegas.
