But the criticism that he has received as a consequence of his actions, proves that no star is too big. Although his PR team is in full swing, having him make appearances along with the formal apology that he made to Chris Rock.

Smith’s much-anticipated movie, Emancipation, finally released after it struggled to find a good date. But the Apple TV+ movie that cost $120 million to make seems to have made a noise like an empty vessel with unimpressive content. Facing his new reality is Will Smith, who understands this to be the aftermath of his actions.

Will Smith visibly upset over the box office bombing of Emancipation

Before the release of Emancipation, the movie already started making rounds for having the potential to enter the Oscars. However, the true verdict came out only after its release. According to RadarOnline, an insider said, “Will knows it’s a long road to redemption and a lot of folks won’t forgive him.” Although the tanking of this movie really hit home for the entertainer. The big-budgeted movie made around $3k per screen on average in every theater.

But what caused this to happen? Perhaps his Oscar slap or the fact that the movie itself was not as amazing as expected to be.

Even movie critics were not overly impressed with how the characters were dragged with misery throughout the movie. The picturization of Whipped Peter failed to touch the audiences, despite it being an important part of history that needed to be told. On the other hand, fans also fell short of turning up for Smith’s first movie since the Oscars.

Currently, Smith’s Hollywood friends have distanced themselves from him as well, including Tom Cruise who has been dodging the actor’s requests to meet.
