With updates and new releases for the upcoming volume 2 of The Witcher 3, Netflix has kept things interesting. And as we wait to see how Freya Allen’s journey in volume 2 unfolds, her character’s role will definitely receive an upgrade as she becomes a more experienced fighter. Volume 1 saw her tapping into her powers to cast spells with the help of Yennefer, while Henry Cavill‘s Geralt taught her to fight like a Witcher. And now, the crown princess of Cintra is seen hinting at a new spin-off.

Freya Allen’s musical prowess is as far-reaching as her character’s talents. And we saw this in the new ballad released by Netflix.

In the new song released by Netflix, Ciri sings ‘A Little Sacrifice’ and has folklore soft vocals. “For if yer goal be Paradise, A life with your true love,” she continues, “Ponder all yer wants in life, And make A Little Sacrifice.” Though this does not have much to do with the plot of the upcoming volume 2, it is based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s The Sword of Destiny

The report by IGN says that the short story appearing in the book with the same name A Little Sacrifice is about mediating a lovers’ clash between a prince and a mermaid. This song doesn’t have much to do with the plot as the lyrics indicate the short story which occurred two decades ago. This hasn’t been the first time that Netflix is hinting at a spin-off through their ongoing series.

While they have dabbled between anime and live-action, another anime spin-off is in the works too!

Since we saw Vesemir’s appearance in season 2 leading to The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, Ciri’s new song could point fingers in a similar direction. The mentioned short story is independent just like its first animated film’s story. Although Netflix hasn’t announced anything officially, it hinted at something similar in 2021.
