There is hardly anyone unbeknownst to the loss that Netflix’s The Witcher and its fans are currently enduring. Henry Cavill‘s exit leaves a visibly large dent in Netflix’s top series. The English actor had been the face of the show since the very beginning and the creators saw no wrong in using his impact on fans to their benefit. Therefore, a lot of their problem-solving methods included Henry Cavill. Drop in ratings? Put Henry Cavill in a bathtub. Fans threatening to not watch the show after his exit? Ensure them that he will be in a bathtub again. But now that there is no more Cavill to put in a bathtub, what is The Witcher‘s plan of action?

While there is no doubt that it was Cavill who emerged as the driving force, he would not have done it without the help of the series’ mystical villains. Ironically, these villains make for the other guardians that make sure viewers remain hooked on the series. With the hero gone, is Netflix summoning a villain to extend its mortality?

Emphasis on the ‘beauty’ aspect, as fans really find themselves questioning which side of the moral compass their loyalty lies as they catch themselves drooling. As if Emhyr van Emreis was not enough, as per Redanian Intelligence, Sharlto Copley is joining The Witcher as Leo Bonhart.

This is not the first time Copley has come to be associated with The Witcher. The South African actor is a confirmed cast of The Rats spin-off of the mystical series. Given his involvement in both Season 4 and the spin-off, all the hints are pointing toward him playing the ruthless bounty hunter from Sapkowski’s world.

Leo Bonhart: The ruthless bounty hunter from Sapkowski’s world

While he may be morally ambiguous going into The Witcher Season 4, his enigmatic background and ruthless nature provide just enough room for Hissrich to incorporate both relevance to Sapkowski’s story and her own narrative. Bonhart will prove to be just the delicious distraction that will allow Hemsworth’s Geralt to settle in.
