In 2015, the Suits alum penned a heart-wrenching article called Champions of Change. In the article, Meghan candidly discussed the problems she faced in childhood due to her color. The former actress narrated a story her grandmother used to narrate to her in childhood. Meghan revealed that when her mother was seven years old, she was not allowed to eat inside a restaurant and was forced to eat chicken at the back of the place in a parking lot. 

The actress further added how she faced countless black jokes in her childhood. However, she also acknowledged the change that has come in society in recent times. Markle appreciated the likes of Harvey Milk, Cesar Chavez, and Martin Luther King Jr. for being champions of change

“It reminds me of how young our country is. How far we’ve come and how far we still have to come. It makes me think of the countless black jokes people have shared in front of me, not realizing I am mixed, unaware that I am the ethnically ambiguous fly on the wall,” Meghan wrote on her blog as quoted by Elle

What inspired Markle to name her blog The Tig

The Tig is quite an uncommon name to have for a blog and certainly, Meghan raised a lot of eyebrows for the same. The Duchess of Sussex was highly motivated to launch her bespoke website after tasting a fine wine called Tignanello. It is nicknamed Tig and savoring the wine helped Markle in knowing more about “the body, legs, structure of the wine.” Reflecting more on the name of the blog in one of her posts, the actress added that tasting the finest wine was a Tig moment for her. She further described it as the moment of getting it. 

Meghan Markle was an advocate of self-love

Self-love is something that Meghan Markle has always believed in. In the recent episode of her podcast Archetypes, the Sussex royal urged the women to be themselves and not let any outside noise crumble them. This is something that Meghan believed in even before she met Prince Harry.

In her blog post in 2015, the actress wrote an extensive article about self-love. She urged everyone around her to spend Valentine’s Day celebrating themselves. Revealing her plans for the romantic day of that year, the former actress mentioned how she would be her own valentine. She talked about running through the streets of New York, gulping pink cocktails, and donning her new shoes.  

Elaborating on the shoes, Markle added it was a gift that she gave herself for working hard throughout the year. In the end, she asked her followers to be happy wherever they are on Valentine’s Day and to never stop loving themselves.

In her various blog posts, Meghan Markle gave out details about herself. She made her readers aware of her personality and choices when it comes to food, traveling, clothes, and other things. Speaking about general things, she revealed her four nicknames, Meg, MM, Flower, and M&M

The former actress needs to snuggle with her dog in the morning. She always loves the idea of taking a week’s break to chill with her friends. The 41-year-old also loves hot sauce and adds it to almost all of her food. Talking about food, Meghan once also revealed how she loves the combination of two classic things: wine and chocolates. 

Meghan Markle takes the right to vote seriously

Meghan is quite serious and aware when it comes to her rights as a citizen of the country. Just before the presidential elections in 2016, the Suits star made a whole post just to make people aware of the importance of voting. She emphasized, “The right to vote is something for which blood, sweat, and tears have been shed; the struggle was endless for us to have this liberty.
