Based on the Hugo Award-winning Liu Cixin’s standout novel by the same name, 3 Body Problem follows the life of the character: Ye Wenjie. As an astrophysicist scarred by witnessing her father’s brutal death during a revolution, she finds herself drafted into the military due to her scientific expertise. Her entanglements get her embroiled in something that has consequences that reverberate into the future.
While the trailer skillfully conceals most of it the narrative points towards elements of satellite invasions, alien realms, and a groundbreaking revelation from a woman. Like Netflix’s Stranger Things and Dark, seems to follow a similar plot of multiple storylines colliding to build a gripping saga.
The release date and how to prepare for it
Earlier today, Netflix rolled out another exclusive clip from the series which also featured the release date of March 21, 2024. It seems like fans will have to endure the wait for the show that they have such high expectations from. Meanwhile, fans can take a gander at reading Cixin’s book beforehand to familiarize themselves with the story.
In addition to the novel, it would also make the show easier to understand if one familiarizes oneself with the ‘3 body problem’ theory identified by Newton that forms the base of it. This could help viewers prepare for the difficult-to-grasp concepts that the show may explore.
