Cringe Moment With Taylor Swift? Joseph Quinn Shares an Enticing Story Post ‘Stranger Things’ Fame
Joseph Quinn quickly shot to fame with Stranger Things. Eddie Munson's death still feels like a personal loss to the fandom, and it is not every day that a character makes such a huge impact in such a short time. Following Season 4 of the Netflix hit, Quinn wasted no time in bagging roles in two other high-profile projects- A Quiet Place: Day One and the upcoming reboot of The Fantastic Four.
All this fame, however, came with an awkward and cringe-worthy interaction with the global pop sensation, Taylor Swift, an incident that the English actor still finds hard to live down.

Joseph Quinn recently stopped by for a talk about his new film, A Quiet Place: Day One, with Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast. While discussing the fame he received following Stranger Things, the actor recounted a moment when he met Taylor Swift, who shared her appreciation for Quinn’s performance on the Netflix show. Overwhelmed by Swift’s gesture, Quinn blurted out, “Oh, thanks! You are Taylor Swift. I mean it as a compliment.”
Quinn, to this day, seems confused about whether Swift understood his star-struck reaction. “I meant it as a compliment, and it is definitely a compliment,” affirmed the 30-year-old. While Quinn found the interaction “stupid,” the pop star “was very good-humored about it,” and they are still on “excellent terms”. Although the star did not divulge much about the final season of Stranger Things and left it to speculation with ambiguous teases, he did talk about how he got the part of Eddie Munson.
Joseph Quinn also shared his experience working in the world created by the Duffer Brothers and his relationship with his castmates.

Things did not go as planned for Joseph Quinn in Stranger Things, much like they did not for his role in The Fantastic Four. The actor had been circulating his audition tapes for a long time. When the Duffer Brothers saw one of them, they reached out to Quinn, saying, “We want you to do it”. Speaking of the talented cast, he recalled the time they were all stuck in Atlanta due to the pandemic.
Quinn shared that during those times, he formed a strong bond with his co-stars like Maya Hawke, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, and Natalia Dyer. They constantly made sure to "keep each other company" in those difficult times. Although Quinn's character was killed off in the fourth season, fans still hope to see him in flashbacks in the final season of Stranger Things.
