Henry Cavill might have shed the swordsmanship in the Witcherverse but his ascend to the throne of sensational portrayals is still living on. This year was a tough one to crack for the Man of Steel actor, especially when he bid his adieu to two major franchises he was linked with. However, since then, Cavill has taken the saddles of several foretelling projects to establish the fact that he is here for the long haul.

Since the upcoming year is now counting hours to unfold, here are some reasons why his exit from The Witcher could accelerate a more promising 2024 for him.

Over the last few years, Henry Cavill became synonymous with Geralt or Superman for his outstanding depictions. Time and again, the creative differences that fidgeted in the way of Geralt’s play and Superman’s portrayal had steered Cavill’s dissatisfaction. But even more than that, the large-scale attention span for his preparation for the authority figures had made them the focal point of his acting career.

Furthermore, as the face of two big franchises, his versatility and scope of experimentation hit a low chord. But now that they are things of the past, the actor can finally take up more projects while honing his acting skills, just like his spy-thriller portrayal of Argylle.

Better scripting than The Witcher

Despite his sensational representation in The Witcher, one of the supposed reasons for Cavill’s departure from the franchise was the writer’s disloyalty to source accuracy. Even the former writer, Beau DeMayo, expressed his discord with this trait of the showrunners. Being a comic nerd for a long time, the British actor ultimately could not make peace with it.

As a result, the creative difference became the hurdle that could no longer be overlooked. However, his farewell can finally ensure that his upcoming partakes will be in contention to his perception. And there is hope that the writers will value his insights with more convincing scripts.

Be it the play as the Last Son of Kryptonite or his monster-hunting genes, Henry Cavill’s dedication to the franchises was unattainable. The extensive training sessions and the forethought that Cavill had to develop for the flawless action sequences were not only time-consuming but also limiting his partake in different projects.

As of now, he is free to experiment and make out-of-the-box character portrayals. And since the ground is now open with the liabilities left at the station, one can hope that Cavill will be known by his name alone as he etches his prominence on the big screens.
