Before the era of streaming, the box office window was the ultimatum. But in the last few years, even the projects that could not blossom during their theatrical lap have found new life with their streaming debuts. And amidst Netflix’s rollercoaster of a spring break, a 2018 adventure flick by Albert Hughes is climbing up the charts like no tomorrow.

According to Tudum’s Global Top 10 Movies Chart on Netflix, Alpha currently ranks 3rd, having earned a whopping 5.5 million views this week. Alpha is Albert Hughes’ 2018 prehistoric adventure film, written by Daniele Sebastian Wiedenhaupt. The film follows a young hunter who encounters a wounded wolf and befriends it during the last ice age. Alpha stars Kodi Smit-McPhee, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson, and Natassia Malthe.
Marcin Kowalczyk as Sigma, Jens Hulten as Xi, Leonor Varela as Shaman, Mercedes de la Zerda as Nu, Spencer Bogaert as Kappa, and Morgan Freeman as Narrator round out the ensemble of Alpha. Chuck, a Czechoslovakian Wolfdog, portrays the wolf Alpha in the movie. Hughes and Andrew Rona have produced the movie under Columbia Pictures, Studio 8, and The Picture Company, with Sony Pictures Releasing serving as the distributor.

On #8 is Nick Green’s Con Mum, followed by J.C. Chandor’s Kraven The Hunter on 7th, and the 2003 science fiction disaster film Core on 6th. Sniper Rogue Mission has entered the Top 5 slot with its ranking on 5th. Dean Devlin’s Geostorm precedes Sniper Rogue Mission on the 4th, and Alpha takes the 3rd position. Lastly, Lawrence Lamont's One of Them Days and Adam Brooks’ The Life List wrap up the list of Netflix’s Top 10.
