Since 2019, Freya Allan has been majorly associated with Netflix’s The Witcher. While she might have made some time to take up other roles in films like Baghead and more, she will always be remembered as Ciri. Just last year, she shocked her fans with a super accurate Irish accent and now the actress has revealed why she feels a connection with Ireland.

Ahead of the fourth season of the Netflix show, the 22-year-old recently revealed where her love for Ireland actually stemmed from. Surprisingly, it ended up having nothing to do with the series and its Celtic mythologies at all.

Why Freya Allan thinks Ireland is special

In a recent interview with Evoke, Freya Allan finally shared why she loved Ireland. After terming it a rather “special place” for her, the actress revealed that she had shot her first-ever major role there. Back when the actress was only 14 years old, she was a part of the television show, Into The Badlands. Although fans who know her now might find her unrecognizable, it was her original breakthrough role.

Allan continued by saying that she had not gotten the chance to sightsee when she was working. However, she would “love to go back” and “properly experience it.” While the star might one day surprise her social media following with pictures of her in Ireland, her trip plans might have to wait for a bit. Although The Witcher will not be making it to screens until 2025, the 22-year-old has another project in her portfolio.

Just last year, the Baghead star was cast in another upcoming 2024 film from a $2.1 billion franchise, which promised an even more exciting future for Allan.

Freya Allan joins Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes

Back in September 2023, the internet lost their minds over the fact that The Witcher‘s Freya Allan had been cast for the upcoming Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes film. While the franchise has already put out multiple films, it seems like their ideas and creativity never cease. Along with the 22-year-old, Peter Macon, Owen Teague and a couple of other actors were added to the cast list.

The story will be picking up the ape saga after the last film came out in 2017, War for the Planet of the Apes. The synopsis only added to the mystery as it brought in new apes and many questions. So far, the film is set to be released on May 10th 2024.
