Meghan Markle and Serena Williams have been longtime friends and supporters of each other. Though they belong to different walks of life, the former actress and sportswoman have a great sisterhood and much love and respect for the other. Whether it is being sweet aunts to each other's children or Markle having invited Williams as her first guest on her Archetypes, the two are indeed a solid.
While in the recent past, Meghan Markle has made many business moves, Serena Williams is also not far behind. Walking into her Markle's footsteps, Williams is all set to make her way into Netflix after the tennis court.

After wrapping up her professional tennis career, Serena Williams is widening her range with other business moves. Williams has recently joined hands with the streaming giant Netflix and will be the executive producer of Carrie Soto is Back, the series adaptation of a best-selling novel by Taylor Jenkins Reid of the same name. Deadline shares that Williams will be producing the series from the Fifth Season and Picturestart and will be written and produced by Amanda Kate Shuman.
Serena Williams and Amanda Kate Shuman are not going to be the only executive producers of this Netflix venture; they will be joined by Caroline Currier, who will produce through Nine Two Six Productions. The series adaptation of the tennis-themed novel is said to be loosely based on Williams’s story of strength and determination in the world of tennis.
With this move, Serena Williams is becoming the first-time producer of a Netflix show, just as Meghan Markle became one with her own Netflix show, With Love, Meghan. Similar to Markle, this is a passion project for Williams for many reasons.
Why Serena Williams was pulled towards this project?
Tennis is the first love of Serena Williams, and she is quick to attach herself to this opportunity that highlights the life and struggles of another woman tennis player. Carrie Soto is Back is based on a fictional tennis legend Carrie Soto, who not only played incredible tennis but also made a spectacular comeback after embracing retirement. Its author, Taylor Jenkins Reid, shared with Goodreads in 2020 how the Williams sisters' quest, especially that of Williams, influenced" Soto's character.

As Serena Williams takes big steps to her Netflix production debut, Meghan Markle sure can guide her with all things and support her as she always does for her children's favorite aunt, Serena. While Williams has never missed it on the court, it will be exciting to see how this new venture paves a way for her.
