Netflix has come up with yet another original and this time, it had got the fans on the run- for their laughs, that is. Running Point has been on the streams for the platform, with some aptly portrayed caricatures of real-life people. While discrepancies are a norm, worthy of being overlooked taken their partly fictitious nature in such a premise, Chet Hanks, on the other hand, seems to be having a mirror held up to him.

Diving into the drama of the sport world, Running Point has been brought up with one of the most interesting facets of celebrity life. 

Kate Hudson starrer Running Point has taken a deep dive into the world of Basketball. Based off of The Lakers Executive; Jeanie Buss, Hudson takes over her problem-ridden brother's basketball team. A snippet shared on Chet Hanks' talk on The Tonight Show revealed a point in the story where Hudson and Hanks seem to be on an outing. Hilariously dubious of his surroundings and the situations, Hanks' character Travis Bugg seems to have questions that have The Waves president massaging her temples. Hanks describes Travis' dynamic as a player on the team to be a problematic one. With a good heart for the clearing, with a little unhinged tinge to him. 

  Travis's character is also defined by his spontaneous nature and his desire to be traded to Miami, reflecting his roots in Florida. His dynamic with Isla Gordon, played by Kate Hudson, evolves from dismissive to respectful, showcasing a deeper side to his personality. The role seems to mirror aspects of Chet Hanks' own public persona, with similarities in social media antics and personal struggles, making his portrayal all the more intriguing to look at.

To prove oneself is often one of the greatest treks of life. Not only rising in the eyes of the spectators but of thyself in the making as well. 

One Isla Gordon teeters at the edge of a coup at the cost of her family heirloom basketball team on a constant and by none other than her own brothers' hunger for succession. The story takes off with one of her brothers' sudden and forced resignation in the face of a discrediting incident. it is then that Isla navigates the challenges of leading a team in a male-dominated industry while dealing with personal and professional hurdles. 

The premise of Running Point offers a fresh and interesting take on both the world of sports as well as the women-in-male-dominated-fields discourse, new to the Hollywood-Netflix scene. But not as much in other parts of the world, however, taking the Thai sport slash comedy drama Hook for instance. With Chet Hanks' playing practically himself, the Kate Hudson center-stage show are made to reflect the real-life aspirations that Jeanie Buss had once had. And with a line-up with such vibrant dynamics, the show has captivated the audience enough to secure even a second season.
