The year 2023 has been quite eventful for Netflix. At a time when it witnessed first-hand success with One Piece, it also witnessed a mercurial drop in its other in-house fantasy, Henry Cavill ‘s The Witcher. Moreover, with the SAG-AFTRA strikes hitting the brakes on many of its productions, the streamer is releasing its store of spin-offs and prequels. All eyes now befall on its Geeked Week event, from where revealing updates are expected in plenty.

One largely anticipated update for the fantasy series has the potential to win fans back.

Is Netflix bringing back Henry Cavill for his swan song?

A lore-accurate yet unceremonious farewell marred the already doomed The Witcher season three. As the show transitioned to move ahead without Henry Cavill, a tragic viewership drop hurt its fortunes. However, the streaming giant may be looking to fix its mess this Geeked Week event with announcements to come on The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep, an anime spin-off. The biggest announcement to come is who between Cavill and Liam Hemsworth is the voice actor for Geralt.

The story revolves around Andrzej Sapkowski’s short story, A Little Sacrifice. Essaying the role of Essi Daven’s bard, it shall fit somewhere in between season one’s events. It had recently signed up, Man of Steel actress, Christina Wren, as the voice actor for Daven. Meanwhile, Joey Batey is also to reprise his role of Jaskier for the anime. Additionally, a teaser trailer, the remaining cast, and the studio behind the animation may also have a reveal.

Geeked Week is all but set to be expansive. The event also detailed and debriefed fans on several upcoming projects.

Netflix showcases its exciting new and upcoming slate of projects

Running from November 6th to 12th, Geeked Week 2023 has already released a slew of updates under its banner. Taking the spotlight among the many projects is Millie Bobby Brown’s Damsel. The stereotype-shattering take on the damsel-in-distress theme is all but slated for a 2024 launch. Furthermore, the actress will also be returning alongside Cavill in the third installment of the Sherlock Holmes spin-off, Enola Holmes 3.

Several fresh updates regarding the streaming giant and Zack Snyder’s space opera, Rebel Moon, also made their way. News on Avatar: The Last Airbender, Stranger Things: The First Shadow and The Dragon Prince Book 6 also found mentions. As the event heads further deeper, information on several upcoming projects like Sonic Prime is also to land down.
