Even with plenty of time since Deadpool & Wolverine hit the theaters, the film has kept a few aces up its sleeve, until now. Shawn Levy just confirmed a jaw-dropping connection between his R-rated blockbuster and Netflix’s time-hopping hit, Stranger Things.

While Levy is the obvious bridge, it turns out that there is another secret buried safe underneath the Upside Down.

A Reddit handle dedicated to discussing the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s updates and developments recently shared three pages from Deadpool & Wolverine’s script. The pages imply how Shawn Levy and the creators used character names from Stranger Things to shield some of the cameos. As the news traveled at lightning speed across social media, Shawn Levy re-posted the report on X, confirming and reminiscing, “my worlds collided” for a flash.

Based on the script snippets, Henry Cavill’s undercover cameo was tucked away under Hopper’s alias, while Jennifer Garner's Elektra was sneakily disguised as Eleven. Meanwhile, Billy served as a decoy for Weasly Snipes’ Blade and Jonathan Byers cloaked Chris Evans’ Johnny Storm in plain sight. Fans might have thought Deadpool & Wolverine laid all cards on the table, but it seems Levy has mastered the art of keeping secrets locked tighter than Fort Knox.

While this was quite a shocking connection between the multiverse and Upside Down, this was not the only time Levy was on cloud nine at the conjunction of these two worlds.

Taking a break from fighting Vecna, the Stranger Things cast showed up for their mentor’s multiversal journey on the opening weekend. Levy took to his Instagram story to share a snap of a few cast members posing around the Deadpool & Wolverine posters in the theaters with popcorn buckets and faces full of smiles.

“My worlds collide,” Levy wrote in his caption. Maya Hawke, Noah Schnapp, Finn Wolfhard, and Joey Keery were present in the picture Levy shared. Although it is unknown whether the rest of the gang found time to catch up on the Marvel characters who resorted to their names for the ultimate defense, it becomes clear that Levy had his moments of déjà vu, working on Deadpool & Wolverine with Stranger Things happening in the back of his mind.
