Atlanta, the epicenter of Hawkins’ mysteries, has been central to the show's production since its inception. Despite some filming delays, production is now halfway complete, and Brown’s return to the city suggests they are filming a church scene for the final season.

Stranger Things is rich with biblical references with cosmic evil at the heart of its story, and the force of good naturally stands at the forefront. By 1986, smuggler Yuri Ismaylov had repurposed an abandoned church in Kyrzan, Kamchatka, turning it into a warehouse for smuggling goods from the United States, including flamethrowers. These flamethrowers were used by Jim Hopper in season 4 to return to the gulag and defeat the Russian Demogorgon and Demodogs, weakening the evil forces from the Upside Down in their hometown of Hawkins.
