The royal nitpicks are everyone’s favorite and for the award season, The Crown, making its spot consecutively shows exactly the level of effort the cast put through. As the Shrine Auditorium in LA settles the winner card deck for this season, Debicki managed to emerge triumphant against all competitors. She won the SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series against her fellow nominees, including Jennifer Aniston.
After winning the category back in 2020 for The Morning Show and achieving the Drama TV Star of the Year recognition at the People’s Choice, this snub did come with a tinge of disappointment. Although Bella Ramsay, Keri Russel, and Sarah Snook also fell short in front of the reel Princess Diana, they did find a special mention in Debicki’s acceptance speech for their role in inspiring her.
While Debicki’s acceptance speech was a clear shout-out for her contemporaries, it also found the audience resorting to counter-cheers.
