Is ‘Supernatural’ Leaving Netflix? Here Is How, When, and Where You Can Stream Your Favorite Drama

Netflix has long been the VIP lounge for blockbuster shows, churning out hits that have cemented their place in pop culture’s hall of fame. While the streaming giant has dominated and hit home runs with its original content, it has been an all-rounder in terms of transforming itself as a sanctuary for cult classics like Supernatural, Arrow, and more. The CW’s longest-running series has felt right at home on the platform, consequently making its potential departure almost unthinkable.
Whispers of change are, however, in the air, and if there is any truth to them, here is the ultimate rundown on Supernatural’s Netflix exit and where it is headed next.

Nothing is set in stone yet, but the chances of Supernatural’s expiry date on Netflix may be inching closer despite having been on the streamer for nearly 15 years. Although the streaming mogul has been home to many CW titles over their 2011 deal for all programs to stream exclusively on Netflix, the CW did not renew the contract in 2019 (via Deadline). Netflix has streaming rights to the programs that have already been there in their library for five years after acquiring the final season.

Supernatural’s last installment hit the streamer in 2020, November 27, and if things play out as per the contract, 2025 should be the last year of Netflix subscribers’ super outings. The five-year exclusivity slot is expected to bow out of Netflix on December 18, 2025. But Supernatural will not be flying solo, The 100 and Arrow might as well tow along, having nearly reached the terms of the five-year deal.
Should Supernatural leave Netflix, it would be one of the hardest goodbyes. But in the digital age, would it find a home somewhere else?
Where can you stream Supernatural if Netflix removes the show?
Netflix’s year began on a festive note with several fan-favorite additions marking subscribers’ calendars. Supernatural is not going to be the first CW title to exit the streaming monarch, but it is unclear where it will touch down next. One Tree Hill left Netflix and other streaming counterparts four months before it made it to Hulu.

Other shows have found their ground after their last seasons on other streamers, but there has been a lack of consistency. Shows like Beauty and the Beast, and Reign hit CWTV—CW’s free streaming service while The Vampire Diaries are now available on HBO Max. Its spin-off can be streamed on Amazon Prime and Tubi. While the diverse outlets paint a fog around Supernatural’s next stop, viewers can still digitally download it by purchasing the show on Apple TV and Amazon.
