Dark Winds is an American psychological thriller television series by Graham Roland based on Tony Hillerman’s Leaphorn & Chee novel series. According to AMC, the third installment of Dark Winds picks up six months after the season 2 finale as Joe Leaphorn and Jim Chee take on the investigation of the mysterious disappearance of two boys.

The third season is reportedly based on Dance Hall of the D--- and The Sinister P--. Dark Winds has eight episodes in the third season as opposed to its six-episodic length in the previous two installments.
