It was his idea to enhance the theme through the relationship between Marie-Laure LeBlanc and her father, Daniel LeBlanc. As the most defining relationship in his life, the Canadian director wanted the show to be an open love letter to the beautiful bond between a father and daughter. Partially blind, Marie-Laure LeBlanc always got encouragement from her father for her ability to see things with her unique vision. Apart from motivation and appreciation, Daniel also built an entire model of the city they lived in. Daniel LeBlanc, as a father, protected his daughter, while Marie-Laure never gave up on her father.

Moreover, it was only Marie-Laure who saved Uncle Etienne’s life by liberating him from his fears of the past.
