Over the years, Henry Cavill has successfully inhabited a diverse range of personas. From the skin of a superhero wearing blue spandex to the sorcerer’s world’s monster-hunter to his recent pact as a coveted agent, Cavill’s skills often had many aliases. However, despite having bid his farewell to these franchises, two of his biggest monikers presumably remain Geralt of Rivia and Superman.

While fans often may have wondered about how a reel showdown between the magnificent characters would turn out, the actor behind the skin once spilled beans on his own verdict. 

Henry Cavill backed up this character for an epic showdown

When it comes to diverse character identities, the name that takes the most mention is Henry Cavill. Yet, having made the characters of Geralt and Superman this iconic, when he was asked to choose one by the Collider in 2019, he had a resolute answer. Although the name did not come right away from Cavill’s lips, after giving it a good thought, he chose Superman.

Cavill did make a case for Geralt as well. He continued in a defensive tone, “Geralt’s pretty good”. For Cavill, Geralt might have even had his chance with a “lot of prep time” with another “fairly well-known superheroic character”. However, if one were to put Geralt and Superman for a face-off, Geralt can only emerge triumphant if Superman “holds back”. Hence, it is safe to say that Superman might have had a conclusive chuckle.

In a hypothetical world, Superman may have won the battle against Geralt, but when it comes to stunning action scenes, The Witcher might have the last laugh.

The Witcher’s powerhouse of action

Henry Cavill is known for going above and beyond to excel in the skin he dons. As for The Witcher, this trait comes visibly transparent with the perfect one-shot action scenes Cavill has executed. To achieve the same, the actor had put himself through a thorough training of heavy compound lifts to maximize his muscle gains. Furthermore, he also underwent crucial swordplay training.

IMDb reports how Cavill had spent all his “free time” with a “sword” by his side. Cavill also admitted having had “three swords” where he lived while the other four were at work. From then onwards, it had been the courtesy of his “non-stop practice” that made him the face of Geralt. Although he himself takes the bet on Superman against Geralt, it makes one wonder what the Henry Cavill fans have on their minds.
