It has been two years since the period crime drama the world has come to love, Peaky Blinders, dropped its final season. However, even though the franchise has concluded its TV run, Cillian Murphy is set to step back into the shoes of gangster Tommy Shelby for a Peaky Blinders movie, and hopefully, for the other two spinoffs rumored to be in development as well, to deal with some unfinished business. As pre-production picks up pace, the cast list has begun to take shape as well. 

Rebecca Ferguson has reportedly joined the Peaky Blinders film cast with Cillian Murphy, according to Deadline. While there are no details unveiled about the character Ferguson will play, it is safe to say that she is the first high-profile actor after Murphy to be associated with the highly anticipated movie. This comes right after Ferguson reprised her role as Lady Jessica in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Two, one of the highest-grossing films of 2024.

The talked-about Peaky Blinders movie was confirmed by Netflix back in May this year, through the streaming giant’s official X account. Netflix shared a picture of the script titled "A Peaky Blinders Film". Murphy also wrote in the social media announcement, “It seems like Tommy Shelby wasn’t finished with me.” Well, fans, clearly, are not ready to let it finish, either.

Ever since the news of the new cast addition made the rounds on X, fans' excitement for the upcoming movie has hit through the roof.

Creator Steven Knight hinted earlier this year that the upcoming Peaky Blinders movie would provide a fitting conclusion to the historical drama. "We’re ending this chapter, we’re all going to try to do our best," Knight told NME. This also means that the budget for this movie is going to be even bigger. Especially after the casting of Rebecca Ferguson, fans are all the more certain that the franchise will try to bring as many A-listers under its umbrella as it can for the final stretch of the Peaky Blinders universe.
