Everyone enters showbiz with a head full of dreams, but only a select few get to park their tent at the Netflix headquarters. To become a Netflix star is equivalent to backing one’s starship with a prominent pedigree. In turn, the streaming service takes pride in making its constellation bigger and better. Yet, despite attaining massive success with Heartstopper, Kit Connor could not help but give these other two projects the edge over the Netflix show.
Heartstopper may have been groundbreaking for Connor, but clearly, not as much as these other two projects, which he could not stop raving about.

On a recent episode of In the Envelope: The Actor’s Podcast, Kit Connor mused that each and every job he has landed so far has helped him shape as an artist and an actor. However, besides that, the projects he has been attached to have also given him the benefit of the doubt about what he wants to do in showbiz going forward. If two projects have truly done that job for him, they are Warfare and Romeo + Juliet.
“Heartstopper was incredibly formative for me as an actor,” Connor said, breaking the ice. However, Warfare and Romeo + Juliet pushed him for better than anything else he could think of. Connor could not be more grateful for the experiences the projects brought him, as moving ahead to the next one fills him with enthusiasm, having gained “new experience, new skills, new, just new thoughts,” he could represent.
While Kit Connor got a better sense of the “joys of being an actor” in a world beyond Netflix, Heartstopper itself is not in a joyous state, with season 4 confronting troubles.

Heartstopper did not take much time to become a fan favorite among Netflix viewers, nor did Kit Connor. Till season 3, the series has broken major records. However, according to a recent Deadline report, Heartstopper EP Patrick Walters explained at Series Mania that the creative crew has been working hard to get a green light for a fourth season, but the funding issues are not looking good for its potential. As per Walters, the best YA shows originate from “nascent IP or original ideas that are hard to get over the line.”

Walters revealed “there are a lot of moving parts” on a possible fourth installment, but they lack a formal update. He pointed out that the funding challenges only worsen with every season of Heartstopper. The complexities of commissioning TV at the moment only add to the difficulty. While he assures the fans that they have been getting their ducks in a row to bring a fourth season, given that Netflix has yet to officially announce, it casts a cloud of uncertainty over.
