Amidst ‘The Fall Guy’s Failure, Netflix Swoops in a Ryan Gosling Classic to Hook Their Audience
Ryan Gosling has been in the industry for nearly three decades and has become one of the most bankable stars. Over the years, the actor has not only showcased his versatility with a range of roles but also become a heartthrob. Especially following Barbie, fans thought there was no looking back for the Canadian actor. However, a massive financial blow came with The Fall Guy. The movie tanked at the box office despite having stars like Emily Blunt.
Amid debates on whether The Fall Guy's reception was justified, Netflix has added yet another Ryan Gosling classic to keep his legacy alive.

June has turned out to be a binge-worthy month for Netflix users. Not only has the streaming giant resurrected some iconic sitcoms, but it has also rolled out some classic movies. Among them is the 2016 gem, La La Land, starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone. This musical has had a bit of a revolving door with Netflix, coming and going over the years. The last time La La Land took its leave from Netflix was in January of last year.
Over a year later, Netflix has brought the Damien Chazelle movie back this month. This means anyone craving their 'City of Stars' fix can find it right at home on Netflix. While fans will be reminded of the Ryan Gosling classic, some still can not get over The Fall Guy’s performance. Recently, another discourse has been unleashed on socials, as the action flick saw a surprising shift in its reception.

From the moment it graced theaters, The Fall Guy has been at the center of debates. On one hand, there are those who argue that it was tailor-made to serve as a mindless action entertainer, meant to fill seats and bring in the cash. On the other hand, some argue it sacrificed logic on the altar of explosive action and stunts.
The Fall Guy amassed 81% percent rating on rotten tomatoes, which many fans deemed unjustified. Even some celebrities have voiced their dissatisfaction, questioning the decision to release the movie digitally without allowing it adequate time to make a comeback at the box office. Nevertheless, unlike La La Land, The Fall Guy appears to have exhausted all avenues of commercial success and may be relegated to its status of divisive critical acclaim.
