Netflix announced Bridgerton spinoff which will be centered around young Queen Charlotte’s life.

This upcoming spinoff series will be created by Shonda Rhimes who will also be the executive producer. Tom Verica and Betsy Beers are also on the team for the prequel. The new showrunner for the ongoing Bridgerton series will be Jess Brownell instead of Chris Van Dusen.

The team behind series is also planning to expand the universe of the Bridgerton series. Along with the renewal, the original show will receive two more seasons as well.

The streaming giant will probably continue expanding the universe. But we might have to wait for some time to watch the spinoff. Because the new seasons for the flagship series are in the works. So it is safe to say that we will get to watch the new seasons of Bridgerton before the prequel series is released.

The former executive producer Shonda Rimes talked about the novels that Bridgerton is based on. She also talks the moment she read the books, she felt like there were enough material to captivate lots of people.

“I knew that Julia Quinn’s Bridgerton series were amazing stories that could easily attract lots of viewers.”

The words of the writer show right as the first season of the series was watched more than 82 million times. According to the two-minutes viewership count Netflix.

The spinoff for the flagship series will tell about the younger Queen Charlotte and how she rises to the throne. The Regency Era series will also show the struggles of the young queen’s love life.

Golda Rosheuvel will play young Charlotte and Ruth Gemmell will give breath to young Violet Bridgerton. And Adjoa Andoh is going to play the young Lady Danbury. The team-up of Netflix and Shondaland will also result in new seasons and lots of new episodes for the romantic drama series.
