Netflix’s ‘Terminator Zero’ Release Date Has an Interesting Connection With Arnold Schwarzenegger Led 1997 Flick
While Netflix has always had a knack for producing top-notch titles, it has taken its game to the next level in recent years by coloring its anime catalog golden with releases guaranteed to grip viewers. Just as it pulled out all the stops with animes like Baki Hanma, the OTT mogul has forged a special connection with Arnold Schwarzenegger's magnum opus, Terminator, for its upcoming release, Terminator Zero.
With its gritty taglines and dark animation, the anime was already poised to be a hit, but its connection to Arnold Schwarzenegger adds yet another compelling reason to tune in.

If there is someone who can give Taylor Swift a run for her money with their Easter egg-dropping schemes, it is Netflix. The OTT streamer announced that Terminator Zero will be gracing screens on August 29. Now, if the name had been any different and the themes of the anime did not involve time traveling, then perhaps the hints could be overlooked. However, as highlighted by Netflix Tudum, August 29 is the very day that Skynet surpasses its human masters in Terminator 2.
Not only is the release date set for August 29, but the anime itself features a line that reads, "On Aug. 29, 1997, everything changes," making its link to Arnold Schwarzenegger's Terminator 2: Judgment Day all the more evident. Apart from its connection to the iconic science fiction franchise, Terminator Zero has several other jewels to offer to Netflix's anime crown.
Set around a war between humanity and ultra-intelligent machines, the eight-episode Netflix anime series has cherry-picked all its components to be a success.

While Terminator Zero has kept most of its cards close to its chest, the anime has dropped just the right hints. Among its finely revealed details is the fact that the protagonist is a female soldier who shoulders the responsibility of stopping the disaster that would lead to the ultimate destruction of humanity by machines.
Apart from a strong female lead at the helm, the series will also deal with a set of complex emotions, as the mastermind behind the artificial intelligence program struggles to realize just how dangerous his creation is until it is too late. The thickening plot, along with the direct reference to the Terminator franchise, has ensured that Terminator Zero becomes a hit, perhaps one even bigger than live-adaptation of One Piece.
