Netflix Set to Add Another Gem to Its Stop-Motion Animation Catalog, After Iconic Titles Like ‘Pinocchio’ and ‘The House’

Whenever Netflix pops open the cork of expansion every year, it shows no signs of slowing down. No matter the occasion, or season, the streaming sensation maintains its reputation as an all-rounder. While the subscribers know all about the thrilling roster of spine-chilling outings the OTT platform has curated for the ongoing streaming season of 2025, it turns out Netflix is also taking things up by a notch in the stop-motion animated sector with a fan-favorite addition, joining the ranks of Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio and The House.

For those wondering which animated jewel is about to shine like a North Star on Netflix’s crown, here is the scoop.

After writing success stories with Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, Wendell & Wild, The Little Prince, and The House, Netflix is ready to expand the storeys of fascination with a new My Melody & Kuromi series. According to Tudum by Netflix’s January report, fans can watch the beloved Sanrio characters in a stop-motion animation series premiering some time this July. The series will celebrate the 50th anniversary of My Melody and the 20th of Kuromi.

Tomoki Misato, famous for Pui Pui Molcar, has directed the forthcoming Netflix series. The award-winning playwright and screenwriter Shuko Nemoto wrote the script during the COVID-19 pandemic. Toruku Studio has co-produced the Japanese stop-motion original net animation series. Although the exact premiere date has yet to be revealed, fans can expect Netflix to lift off the veil of mystery soon, considering the release date is not that far.

To ensure Netflix’s streaming garden is in full bloom this year, the streaming mogul has stepped up the game in more ways than one. While the adults binge-watch the thrilling delicacies for an adventurous spring, the children get access to the summer holiday feel early on. Netflix already added Barbie & Teresa: Recipe for Friendship, Plankton: The Movie, Cocomelon Lane Season 4, and Wolf King from March 6 to 20

What awaits them in April in the vault of vibrant animations is Jurassic World Chaos Theory Season 3 on April 3, followed by Blippi’s Job Show and Unicorn Academy: Chapter 3 on April 7 and 9, respectively. Pokemon Horizons: Season 2-The Search for Laqua Part 2 will touchdown on the streamer on April 25. Astérix and Obélix: The Big Fight, at last, wraps up the spring roster of animated additions with its streaming debut on April 30.
