Netflix’s love for the heist genre has given us another heist movie in an unusual setting of a zombie apocalypse. Fans did not complain as they desperately wanted to fill the void left by “Money Heist“. Directed by Matthias Schweighöfer, the heist comedy prequel to “Army of the Dead” follows Dieter and crew on their journey to steal three safes designed by famed locksmith Hans Wagner.
Nathalie Emmanuel plays the role of Gwendoline Starr in Army of Thieves, who plans the heist and ends up stealing our hearts.
Twitter in awe of Nathalie Emmanuel in Army of Thieves
Nathalie Emmanuel is quite famous among the fans, as one would expect from the “Game of Thrones” Missandei. The Khaleesi’s best friend has adapted to working with an ensemble cast in franchise movies like “Fast & Furious” and “The Maze Runner.” Thus, Nathalie Emmanuel in the Army of Thieves naturally created a buzz among the fans.

Nathalie Emmanuel’s role
Gwendoline is an international jewelry thief, who plans the heist. Unfortunately, as she already has an extensive criminal record, it makes her a target for Interpol. With a ragtag crew of a driver, guns expert, hacker, and safecracker, she tries to conduct a heist on the toughest safes to crack around the world. Gwendoline is the major driving force along with the Götterdämmerung, for Dieter to be in Las Vegas.
The chemistry between the awkward safecracker and charismatic criminal never fades off. Mostly, the movie focuses on Dieter and doesn’t dive into Gwendoline’s past. The creators see her as a plot catalyst and nothing more. “Other than Emmanuel’s standout performance, “Army of Thieves” doesn’t steal much more than your time.” This statement perfectly sums up Nathalie’s importance in the movie.
