"You little clown"- Finneas Stands Up for Billie Eilish Amid Controversy Over Her Alleged "predatory" Lyrics in ‘Guess'

It is not new for the world to have a hyper-fixation on a celebrity's sexuality. And Billie Eilish is just another star whose sexuality has been endlessly speculated about for years, despite her refusal to put a label on herself. The two-time Grammy-winning singer first opened up about same-sex attraction in a 2023 cover story with Variety. This year, she spilled more beans with her new album ‘Hit Me Hard and Soft.’ Turns out, now, the same fans and media who hounded Eilish about her sexuality are accusing her of ‘queerbaiting.’

As Eilish dropped 'Guess' with Charli XCX, these accusations went through the roof, causing her brother, Finneas, to respond.

It all started when a TikTok account named windows199x alleged Billie Eilish’s verse in ‘Guess’ was “highkey predatory.” The user also accused the songstress of “queerbaiting for commercial gain” and objectifying girls. Finneas, who was also behind producing the track, clapped back saying, “What a take you little clown.” Finneas pointed out the hypocrisy of the internet for criticizing Eilish of queerbaiting, when in reality, they were the same people “forcing her to label and out herself.

This is not the first time Eilish has faced backlash for this alleged marketing tactic. Back in 2021, fans accused the ‘What Was I Made For?’ singer of the same when she danced sensuously with women in her ‘Lost Cause’ music video. Although the 22-year-old has grown more comfortable talking or singing about sexuality, as was evident in the hit, ‘Lunch,’ the incessant bullying took its toll on her. However, she is far from the only musician to have endured such scrutiny over sexual preferences.

There is a ‘Gaylor’ community out there that believes Taylor Swift is a closeted queer and that she has been dropping hints about her sexuality in her music for a long, long time. They came up with many theories by dissecting Swift’s songs, female friendships, and even the color of her outfits and hair dye. Last year, a prologue from Taylor Swift’s re-released version of her iconic album ‘1989’ finally addressed the longstanding rumors that she is secretly queer.

In the circulated screenshots, Taylor Swift referenced the intense speculation surrounding her female friendships that led to the rumors and took a dig at fans for “sensationalizing or sexualizing” her for being friends with women. Nonetheless, the pop star has always embraced the LGBTQ community, even though she has denied being a member of it. That said, for artists like Swift and Billie Eilish, sexuality is still a hot topic of speculation on the internet.
