Ye Wants to “tear the head off” in the Infamous 20-V-1 Rap Battle With Drake for This One Reason
Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, and Drake are without a doubt are two of the biggest names in hip-hop history. But their relationship and ongoing beef are as clear as mud, to say the least. Ye and Drake's tension can be traced back to a spat over a beat in 2018. But the latest round of verbal jabs began with last year's Drake and J. Cole collab ‘First Person Shooter’, where the "big three" claim first caught fire. Amid the hip-hop beef packed with drama, a leaked track by Drake, titled ‘Push Ups,’ suddenly popped up online.
In the track, he raised the question of whether this is a showdown of 20 versus 1. And now Ye has given his two cents on the notorious 20-V-1 rap battle with Drake.

A lot of fans thought ‘Push Ups’ was just some AI track until Drake set the record straight by posting a picture on one of his Instagram stories, featuring Uma Thurman from Kill Bill staring down her enemies. Ye, in his chat on The Download podcast, vented about Drake and the 20-V-1 rap feud, saying, “I’m tired of this guy f***ing with me”. Referring to himself as “invincible”, the rapper boldly declared that he would "tear the head off who ever they thought was in control."
Following the release of Future and Metro Boomin’s 'We Don’t Trust You' and 'We Still Don’t Trust You' albums, Drake found himself at odds with Future, Metro, Kendrick Lamar, Rick Ross, The Weeknd, A$AP Rocky, and more. And now even Ye jumped into the ring, referencing a track from the previously released 'We Don't Trust You' album. However, it is still unclear whether the original trio officially approved this collaboration. Nonetheless, Ye opened up about his reasons for getting involved in the beef on the podcast.
Ye revealed his own driving forces for airing out his issues with both Drake and J. Cole, which prompted him to jump into the beef.

During his chat with Justin LaBoy on The Download, Ye looked back on a 2016 J. Cole song that supposedly dissed him, though he got the title wrong. Ye brought up 'False Prophets' and said “Somebody told me it’s halfway about me”. He also revealed that the remix of 'Like That' diss was made to guarantee Drake’s "elimination".
He disclosed that Future reached out to him to add more heat to the situation, with the aim of bringing down Drake. “Pluto called me, I went to the studio and laid that,” said the 'Donda' rapper. While it is not unusual for Ye and Drake to exchange blows, this time around, the feud is introducing so many new dynamics that it could become a cultural phenomenon in the annals of hip-hop.
