Ye on ‘Family Guy’: Every Hilarious Reference to the Controversial Rapper That Made Us Gag
One can always count on Family Guy to push the envelope and have its viewers chuckling at the expense of some of the biggest names in pop culture. Take Ye, for instance; he had all the makings of a stand-up comedian- especially in his earlier days as Kanye West. The rapper’s quirky antics and off-the-wall personality have provided endless material for memes and jokes over the years. So, it was really no shock when Family Guy decided to take a jab, or rather multiple jabs, at him with their signature brand of infamous and ruthless celebrity roasts.
Ye has been featured as his cartoon alter ego, Kenny West, in Family Guy, elevating the animated show’s awareness and pop culture savvy.

In Family Guy Season 16, Episode 9, the show took aim at Ye’s habit of over-explaining things. In one scene, as the Griffins put up their Christmas decorations, Meg was seen pulling out some ‘Kanye Canes’ for the stockings. These candy canes had shutter shades and made silly, Ye-like statements. He also popped up in Season 22, Episode 14, as Kenny West where he argued with Peter about who created dinosaurs.
In Season 17, Episode 1, Ye's Kenny West was featured again, and was shown massaging a lasagna while getting ready to announce his intent to join ISIS- wild, yes. He even appeared in The Cleveland Show, the Family Guy spinoff, where he had a funny music battle with Cleveland Brown, Jr. Then, in Season 8, Episode 5, Brian pretended to be Ye, which was another hilarious moment. And it only gets funnier.
Family Guy recently referenced Ye again by making fun of Adidas Yeezy in their Halloween special.

Ye has always been an easy target of Family Guy, after the Sussexes perhaps. Recently, Hulu shared a teaser of an upcoming episode of Family Guy, which will be released on the streaming platform in October. In this clip, Peter Griffin, Glenn Quagmire, and Cleveland Brown were seen trying to haul a massive pumpkin for a pumpkin contest. However, they soon drop it, smashing it to bits. “We wrecked the pumpkin!” Peter says, to which Cleveland responds with dismay, “And my sneakers!”
The camera then shifted to Cleveland, who was wearing what looked like the once-coveted Yeezy 450s. Quagmire asked, “Are those Yeezys?” To which Cleveland sheepishly replied, “They’re cheaper now.” This playful jab at the series comes two years after Adidas severed its ties with Ye, the one who created Yeezy. Nonetheless, it is safe to say that Ye has secured a lasting reference in the world of Seth MacFarlane’s show.
