A few hours down the line, Ye found himself embroiled in Sheck Wes' accusations of him copying his ‘Mo Bamba’ beats for ‘Carnival’. Fresh after brushing them off with an implied story, the rapper dropped a screenshot of his text with a short-form video creator, Tra Rags. Within minutes of him posting the same on his Instagram stories, screenshots of the two interacting via Face-Time flooded on X, capturing Ye sporting his titanium grille smile.
The content creator, Traquan Ragsdale, boasts over 1.5 million followers on TikTok and also has an active fan base on Instagram and YouTube. A few years down the line, Ye stood at a valuation worth more than a whopping $6 billion. Despite the fall of his net worth to a current estimation of somewhere north of $400 million, the rap mogul has shown unabated determination to claim it back. Marking his first steps towards the same, ‘Carnival’ from his ‘Vultures 1’ album went on to become the best-selling hip-hop single in the US in 2024.
With 168 million streams and 18,000 complete copies selling out, the album set a new bar for Ye and his team of collaborators. Furthermore, with the delayed ‘Vultures 2’ now looking at a May 3 release and expected to feature a line-up of new artists, the mega-comeback may soon come back within grasping distance.
