The Malibu mansion curse just does not seem to let go of Ye, aka Kanye West, even after the rapper finally offloaded it. Over the years, Ye has spent more time dealing with problem after problem because of the mansion than actually living in it. Last month, he finally got bored with the mess and decided to sell the home for less than half of what he originally shelled out, and even the new owner pointed out how dumb his alterations of the architecture were. But now, the mansion has brought even more headaches for the rapper.

A security guard who worked at the mansion recently filed a lawsuit against Ye for an alleged injustice during his time working there.

The security guard in question, Jonathan Monroe, recently claimed that Ye hired him as a full-time guard back in August 2021 and offered him $30 an hour to watch over the crumbling construction site. But despite putting in 36 to 50 hours a week, Monroe says he was fired just two months later without seeing a dime of his promised pay. In the lawsuit obtained by TMZ, which he filed three years after his alleged firing, Monroe claimed his gripe about unpaid wages was the only reason he got the boot.

According to the lawsuit, Monroe is now chasing after Yeezy for a hefty compensation. He is demanding his unpaid wages, plus interest and punitive damages from the rapper. While Ye’s camp has yet to respond to the lawsuit, Monroe was not the only staff member to work at the Malibu beachfront mansion who has accused Ye of unfairly firing them.

Another staffer also claimed earlier this year that he lost his job despite putting his life on the line for Ye’s inhabitable property.

When Ye first bought the Malibu property in 2021, it had all the trappings of an A-list paradise. However, Ye’s ill-fated renovation efforts turned the beachfront masterpiece into a construction site disaster. To fix the 4,000-square-foot wreck, Ye brought in contractor Tony Saxon, who was tasked with renovating the amenities. While working there, the contractor had to deal with many life hazards.

Saxon told the New Yorker that he felt exposed to intruders while sleeping on the floor at Ye's mansion. He also recalled having to chase off a few fans who were live-streaming their uninvited visit. Despite these dangers, the contractor says he was fired in retaliation for voicing safety concerns. Given Ye’s reputation for firing people, the Jonathan Monroe lawsuit might spell some serious trouble for the rapper.
