Following a tumultuous time marked by a missing record and escalating legal issues, Ye (formerly Kanye West) made a dramatic comeback with the release of ‘Vultures 2,’ which was celebrated with sold-out listening events. While Ye’s albums typically follow a pattern of listening parties before and after their release, his latest South Korean show demonstrates his expanding reach after making headlines for all the right but unexpected reasons.

Although the listening experience was clearly destined for greatness after selling out tickets within five minutes, Ye’s impact was further amplified by an unexpected record he set following his show in the country.

When Ty Dolla $ign first reported on Ye's sold-out South Korean listening experience for ‘Vultures 2’ this month, it was clear that the two were paving the way for a major comeback. However, the momentum grew even stronger after the Taiwan show was canceled, making the South Korean event even more significant as the first of its kind in Asia. Now, just days after the event, the ‘Vultures’ rapper has maintained his spot on Spotify's Top Artists South Korea chart for an impressive 1,039 consecutive days.

This achievement stands out on its own, as no artist, including K-Pop acts, has ever remained on the list longer than Ye. Currently, the rapper is the second-most streamed artist on Spotify in South Korea, just behind BTS's Jimin and subsequently, followed by BTS’s Jung-Kook and NewJeans. Notably, members of NewJeans were even spotted at the high-profile ‘Vultures 2’ show.

On August 23, Ye hosted his Vultures Listening Experience at Korea's Goyang Stadium, selling over 69,000 tickets within just five minutes of their release. The stadium was not filled solely by Ye’s Korean fans; numerous Korean celebrities also attended to witness the Atlanta rapper's performance. According to All K-Pop, K-hip-hop artists and K-pop stars spotted in the audience included NewJeans’ Minji, Danielle, and Hanni.

2NE1’s CL and Minzy were also in the audience, along with aespa’s Giselle and Winter, and Jeon So Mi. TREASURE’s Jihoon, Hyunsuk, Yoshi, Doyoung, and Haruto were also among those present. The Korean listening experience was especially exciting for Ye’s fans, as the artist performed a medley of 77 songs over 2.5 hours. While the presence of these prominent artists underscored Ye’s star power, his latest achievement further cements why he continues to be the center of attention wherever he goes.
