Ye’s ‘Bully’ Gets Taken Down by Claire Pommet’s Label Following Social Media Callout
Amidst the skyrocketing anticipation for Kanye West aka Ye’s ‘Bully,’ the Atlanta native has again found himself in hot waters. Despite convincing fans about his solid solo comeback with the record after a social media vanishing act, the first snippet sample of the rapper confronted some unforeseen allegations by French artist Claire Pommet. While a social media callout already had fans on their toes about the non-clearance of the sample, Pommet’s label recently took a step further by removing his content.
Although fans played their part in the defense, pleading with Pommet for clearance on the sample, the French artist looks resolute to take the matter head-on.

A few days ago, hot on the heels of the New Year’s bash, Ye wasted no time in launching the rockets of ‘Bully’ with an unheard snippet. The version featured the rapper behind a piano, banging his head to the beats of Claire Pommet’s ‘soleil soleil.’ While a social media callout already worried fans, to top that off, her label, Virgin Music, has been reportedly removing the videos of the clip sampling her song.
A disclaimer pops up to anyone attempting to tune in to the video dropped previously, saying, “This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Universal Music Group.” The impact of the teaser was undeniable, with fans rooting for the album with newfound passion despite past disappointments. Although this is not supposed to be the sole track from ‘Bully,’ Pommet’s action against the sampling raises eyebrows about its future.
While Claire Pommet’s bold boycott came right after a thinly veiled social media rebuke aimed at Ye, it is a surprising move considering she has been a former fan of the artist.
Claire Pommet’s social media shading on Ye for Bully sample
When Ye emerged out of nowhere before the New Year, fans thought the drop of ‘Bully’ amidst the festive period was imminent. Although the album did not drop, they were at least blessed with a snippet to cherish what was about to come. However, only days later, Claire Pommet took to Instagram to slam Ye for the unauthorized use of her sample for ‘Bully,’ clearing the air that she never agreed to clear her track ‘soleil soleil.’

Not only was she unaware of the source of the audio or video content, but she also declared that she never gave her “consent” for the use. Pommet was allegedly a fan of the rapper in the past. However, the reasons behind her non-clearance were deeply rooted in the “political position” Ye boasts, which she is opposed to. While fans sniffed a storm brewing over Ye’s head since Pommet’s social lashing, it now seems it was only the calm before the storm.
