BET has released their nomination list for 2024 and Ye and Ty Dolla $ign have secured a coveted spot in the Best Duo or Group category. Although their 'Vultures' albums has received several certifications and chart-topping positions among a hundred and more nations, it is the first time the dynamic duo has been recognized for an award for their collaboration. 

With their innovative fusion of hip-hop, rock, and R&B, Ye and Ty Dolla $ign are strong contenders for the prestigious award, celebrating their groundbreaking collaboration. Nevertheless, the duo will have to face stiff competition from notable duos, including 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne, Common and Pete Rock, Earthgang, Flyana Boss, Future and Metro Boomin, and Rick Ross and Meek Mill.

The specialty of this year's BET awards is not just Ye contending but also the new challenges that lie ahead. 

As Ye vie for Best Duo or Group alongside Ty Dolla $ign, he will have to navigate a fiercely competitive landscape at the 2024 BET Hip Hop Awards. Megan Thee Stallion dominates with 12 nominations, setting the tone for an intense battle. Hence, although the two have given their best to prove their camaraderie, Ye's category features powerhouse duos, and the real challenge lies where female artists have taken the lead. 

For the first time since its introduction in 2020, women have achieved parity in the Hip-Hop Artist of the Year category. Megan Thee Stallion, Cardi B, GloRilla, and Nicki Minaj represent the female contingent, while 21 Savage, Drake, Future, and Kendrick Lamar hold it down for the men. Ye and Dolla $ign though not nominated in this category, will still face a tough edge among artists vying for Best Duo if the rest do not bag theirs in the categories they share with the female heavyweights.
