Ye, aka Kanye West, is currently busy coming out of his creative hibernation in Tokyo, where he is reportedly self-producing his upcoming album from his hotel room. While he is enjoying a break from controversy in Asia, his fans all over the world are on the edge of their seats, wondering if this new project will finally achieve what ‘Vultures’ failed to do in many different ways. With all the excitement and nervousness surrounding it, no one had the slightest idea when Ye found the time to team up with one of his former collaborators, Playboi Carti.

Two years after they last worked on the second volume of ‘Donda,’ the two may have come together once again for a brand new project.

Playboi Carti, much like Ye, has been hard at work on a new album, ‘I Am Music.’ The album is scheduled to drop sometime in 2024 through AWGE and Interscope Records, with the single ‘All Red’ leading the way. Recently, the rapper gave fans a preview of another track called ‘BACKDOOR A MF,' supposedly from the upcoming album on Instagram. But what really got people talking was him dropping Ye’s Instagram handle in the story, which pretty much confirmed the 'College Dropout' artist's involvement in it.

Earlier this month, during an LA appearance, Carti teased his collaboration with Ye in the ‘I Am Music’ album. "Shout out to Kanye, he over here making beats and ***t," he grabbed the mic and announced. The 29-year-old added, "That album gonna be crazy”. This announcement came two months after Carti dropped ‘All Red.’ However, this was not the first time Carti hinted at his latest collaboration with Ye.

In September, Carti popped up on Instagram yet again to tease future collaborations with Ye, while also showing some love to the rap icon.

Playboi Carti dropped hints about teaming up with Ye

Playboi Carti has often credited Ye as a major influence on his work. In turn, the ‘Graduation’ creator has called Carti one of the most important artists of his generation. So, it is hardly a surprise that the two might be teaming up now that Ye is finally back from his hiatus. In September, Carti took to Instagram, writing, "@Ye KANT WAIT 2 SHOW THE WORLD WHAT WE BEEN WORKIN ON WIT DIS ALBUM”.

Carti followed it up with, "WE DA REAL 5L NO DOUBT." Ye returned the love with a comment saying, "Love this" under the post. However, for those hoping to hear Ye’s new music through the 'Magnolia' rapper before 'Bully' hits the airwaves, it might be time to slow down a bit. Like his ‘Donda’ collaborator, Sir Cartier has also mastered the art of album delays.
