X Users Declare Eminem’s ‘The Death of Slim Shady (Coupe de Grâce)’ as Their Pick for “album of the year”
The hip-hop world had been entangled in a showdown for the better part of this year. Now that the dust has settled on the infamous beef between Kendrick Lamar and Drake, with a winner decided, of course, Eminem- whom some might call the greatest rapper of all time- has decided to make a grand comeback. After four long years of having fans on the edge with anticipation, the rapper has finally returned with his 12th studio album.
It has been mere moments since 'The Death of Slim Shady (Coupe de Grâce)' dropped, and the album is already making waves in the industry. The 19-track project is currently trending on X, and fans have already declared it the "album of the year". The Grammy-winning rapper has not only unleashed a full-fledged hit but also name-checked some heavyweights, including Kendrick Lamar, which is not going to pass without having ruffled some feathers.

It was revealed by Dr. Dre earlier this year on Jimmy Kimmel's talk show that Eminem is working on a new album. He also called the album "fire" without even laying ears on the full version. And he may have been right, considering the internet has gone bananas ever since Eminem dropped 'The Death of Slim Shady (Coupe de Grâce)'.
Fans have swarmed over X, celebrating Eminem's comeback and marveling at his musical genius.
Eminem fans are ecstatic over his return to form
In 'The Death of Slim Shady (Coupe de Grâce)', Eminem has not only introduced several new tracks but has also dropped previously released singles 'Houdini' and 'Tobey' featuring Big Sean and BabyTron. Another track that received a lot of praise from the album was a sequel to 1999’s 'Guilty Conscience' with Dr. Dre, bringing in the perfect dose of nostalgia. Fans were over the moon marveling at the beats of Eminem's latest release, re-crowing the rapper with his 'GOAT' status.
Many fans, however, also felt that the album was mediocre and did not deserve the hype. Meanwhile, some brought up Taylor Swift and her album, 'The Tortured Poets Department'. They believed that as long as the pop star keeps on inundating the charts with her endless variant releases, there is less chance for other artists to top the game.

Eminem's album is pretty fresh, and many fans have still not reached the end of it. Therefore, the early reviews on X are relatively mixed. Nonetheless, the best way to dive into the "conceptual album" is by playing by its order, as Eminem himself advised in the public service announcement.
