The world of music is having an intrinsic shake-up of its own. As the year rejoices in hip-hop’s 50th year, the industry also acknowledged the wholehearted box office incursions made by its crown jewels – Taylor Swift and Beyoncé. However, the former and her fandom have several other reasons to rejoice. Not only did the ‘Wildest Dreams’ singer mark a glorious billion-dollar leg of her The Eras Tour concert but she was also bestowed with Apple Music’s Artist of the Year for 2023. In celebrations, a track released to commemorate that very occasion has ended up becoming a chart-buster of its own.

The song is again a reminder of the prowess the singer possesses and, interestingly, was once one that did make the cut.

The year is 2023, and it is more and more likely that the only competition to Taylor Swift is the artist herself. Barely a couple of days ago, the singer received Apple Music’s Artist of the Year title. In a celebratory affair of her own, she released ‘You’re Losing Me (From The Vault)’. As it turns out, the song is now trending on Spotify at number one with 6.87 million streams. The track’s release once again cemented her very title, that lauded her as the artist with the most streams in a single year.

Furthermore, ‘You’re Losing Me’ was part of her ‘Midnights’ album and was about her relationship with her ex, Joe Alwyn. Songs throughout the singer’s recordings that did not make the original cut now find a special release in her re-recorded albums as one from the ‘Vault’. Meanwhile, this year, 65 of the 33-year-old’s songs reached Apple Music’s Global Daily Top 100, far outperforming any other artist and hence, the celebrations.

The grand music release comes close on the heels of the singer completing a rather stressful and headline-grabbing South American leg of her concert.

The Eras Tour affair that marred the celebrations

Taylor Swift commenced her South American leg of The Eras Tour concert on November 9 with three shows at Estadio River Plate in Buenos Aires. However, the date stood postponed from its original schedule following the death of a fan owing to a heatwave with a heat index of over 140 degrees. A heartfelt letter from the singer mourned the loss while metal sheets at places in the venue served as casualties as many second-degree burn reports followed.

The Eras Tour has completed its 2023 run and will resume on February 7, 2024. The months-long tour will conclude on December 8, 2024 in Canada. However, the biggest highlight of it is the sheer numbers pulled in. Staggeringly, the revenue collected from the concert stands pegged at over $4 billion. Regardless, thanks to the concert movie of the same, Swift already stands as a billionaire with a net worth of $1.1 billion.
