According to his personal attorney, Bruce Marks, who spoke to Rolling Stone in 2023, Ye will not be seeking the presidency in 2024. This announcement marked the end of any active presidential campaign efforts by the rapper, who once sought to challenge the traditional and existing political landscape.

Subsequently, another source mentioned to the outlet that due to West's notorious unpredictability, an about-face on this decision cannot be completely ruled out. However, considering his subpar performance in 2020, where he spent $9 million of his own money and failed to secure even 100,000 votes, coupled with ongoing financial and legal troubles, it is likely he will stick to his decision of not being a candidate for the office this year.

Ye's approach to everything under the sun has been anything but conventional, and his foray into politics was no exception. From the outset, the rapper introduced a unique perspective, never aligning himself with either the Republican or Democratic parties. Instead, he declared his intention to run for president under his own self-styled Birthday Party.

West first unveiled this organization in July 2020, and it was widely assumed he would use it for the 2024 elections. To add to the eccentricity, during a Forbes interview that same year, he discussed the fictional kingdom of Wakanda from Black Panther as a framework for his vision of administration if he did win. While his concept of a self-created Wakanda never materialized in the White House, it remains an unfulfilled dream for 2024 as well.
