While Taylor Swift Skips Netflix’s FireAid Benefit Concert, Kamala Harris Gets a Warm Welcome From Attendees
Taylor Swift and Kamala Harris might come from completely different worlds when it comes to their careers, but over the years, it has been clear they are on the same page politically. In fact, when Swift endorsed Harris last year, many thought it would make a big impact on the election results. But, the endorsement did not quite change the course of the election. Even so, both Swift and Harris continue to direct their efforts toward meaningful causes, especially with parts of America now engulfed by destructive fires.
Harris recently showed up for the LA fire victims by attending the Netflix FireAid benefit concert, even though Swift could not make it.

Kamala Harris recently made an appearance at the Netflix FireAid concert, an event organized to raise money for communities in Southern California that were affected by the destructive wildfires. The concert was streamed live on Netflix’s Tudum platform, and Harris was seen there with her husband, Doug Emhoff. As soon as she walked into the venue, the crowd greeted her with loud applause. However, her appearance at the Netflix event was not all that surprising, given the hefty donation the streaming giant made to her campaign last year.
According to reports, Netflix executive chairman Reed Hastings contributed $7 million to Harris’ presidential campaign. This generous contribution also sparked calls from some for a Netflix boycott on social media. While Taylor Swift did not directly donate to Harris’ campaign, her fans also came together to raise thousands of dollars to support the candidate. Even though all these entities seem aligned on political matters, Netflix’s FireAid benefit concert did not include Swift on the guest list that had Kamala Harris.
Fans could not help but notice the absence of the biggest pop star of the moment, especially since so many well-known figures from the pop world were in attendance.

The FireAid Benefit concert brought together many big names in the music industry, including Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga, Gracie Abrams, Jelly Roll, Rod Stewart, and Earth, Wind & Fire. But Taylor Swift was nowhere to be found. However, that does not mean the songstress, whose home was fortunately spared from the fires, has turned her back on the victims of the disaster.

Earlier this month, Swift took to her Instagram Story to speak out about the devastation caused by the wildfires. While she did not reveal the specifics of her financial support, she did mention donating to several organizations that are working around the clock to help affected communities. Swift wrapped up her post by tagging and listing several relief organizations, showing her continued support for the cause.
