Kanye West has been in the spotlight since back in the early 2000s. From his first hit, a collaboration with Twista and Jamie Foxx, back in 2003, the rapper has come a long way. His music videos, lyrics, creativity, and even fashion sense are nothing less than a genius, probably why he is referred to as the greatest rapper of all time. However, all of this has not kept the 24-time Grammy winner out of the usual conspiracies and controversies that make their way online.

There is no doubt that the rapper has been getting most of the attention for all the wrong reasons in recent times: be it his anti-Semitic comments or brands ending deals with him. However, with rumors around his new album, Ye is now back in the spotlight for all the right reasons.

While West usually makes his way about the music festival circuit, this year has been no different. The rapper was seen at the Electric Picnic Music Festival in Ireland over the weekend, according to a post from a fan page on Instagram. But what caught users’ attention was the fact that the picture featured the artist locked in an embrace with his good friend and musician, Steve Lacy.

While it may have been a bump in or a random catch-up with friends, the news of Kanye West working on new music still rang in everyone’s minds. The internet could not help but speculate whether there might be collaboration soon. While the crossover may have surprised a lot of online users, the duo already stunned the world back in 2022 with their unlikely friendship.

In 2022, collaboration rumors were shut down by Steve Lacy and he claimed that the two were friends. However, the duo collaborated on tattoos with another rapper as well.

A collaboration not on music but on tattoos

Last year, when Kanye West was surrounded by controversies left and right, the rapper stunned his fans with a picture that spread around the internet like wildfire. The picture showed the rapper with Lil Uzi Vert and Steve Lacy in a mirror selfie showing off matching tattoos that the trio had gotten. The tattoo was right above their left elbows and had the words “we here forever technically.”

Unfortunately, that was the only collaboration that the musicians gave their fans. But West surprised everyone again when he made a statement about Steve Lacy and his latest album, ‘Gemini Rights’ after it was released. The rapper commented under Lacy’s post saying that the “Album is beautiful” and even called him “one of the most inspiring people on the planet.”

While fans may have to wait a long while before the duo collaborates, at least they have their social media pictures to keep making them smile. But with the confirmation of Ye working on a new album and them hugging each other out, hopefully, fans will not have to wait for too long.
