Lloyd Banks almost signed a deal with the GOOD Music label once. Collaborations are a big part of Kanye West and his career and he often includes classic or new artists in his music. Even his production company, GOOD Music, would take in rappers during the peak activity years. But forming a deal or a collaboration is more complicated than one could imagine.

The label was first formed in 2004 and fans saw many rappers enter and exit, whether on good terms or bad. In recent times, quite a few rappers distanced themselves from the company because of disagreements. But it was during the golden years of West and Banks when they reached on a brink of getting into a deal.

Ye was a producer, before ever becoming a rapper. That led him to form his GOOD Music company in 2004 and sign rappers under it. During an appearance on the Rap Radar Podcast, Lloyd Banks revealed how he nearly signed a deal with the label back in 2010. “So at one point, it was supposed to be a G-Unit/G.O.O.D. Music type of situation,” he explained. However, the deal never went through, due to some circumstances.

The deal’s initiation was the work of late music executive Chris Lighty. G-unit was made by a few rappers, including Banks and 50 Cent. However, it was not all in vain, as Ye and Banks collaborated for music. In 2010 they joined hands with Swizz Beatz and Ryan Leslie, etc. to make ‘Start It Up’. This was followed by ‘Christian Dior Denim Flow’.
